HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- The first day of the 2017 NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship came to a close with six teams advancing to the second round.
Two teams from the Sooner state notched upsets over higher seeds. No. 16 Connors State (OK) rallied to defeat No. 17 Spartanburg Methodist (SC) 96-90 while the Jets of Northern Oklahoma-Enid - seeded 23rd - knocked off No. 10 Southern Idaho 95-90.
Jones County (MS), Panola (TX), St. Petersburg (FL) and Gillette (WY) also notched wins to advance to the second round.

Tomorrow's action begins at 11 a.m. Eastern (10 a.m. Central) with No. 14 Motlow State (TN) vs. No. 19 Coffeyville (KS).
